I have always enjoyed the world of fashion. There is just something so fabulous about finding that perfect piece and coming up with ten different ways of styling that item that intrigues me. I have followed many great fashion bloggers for years, and even though I wanted to start my own blog, I always felt inadequate. I told myself, you’re not as fashionable, not as skinny, not as financially well off, not as pretty, or not as good of a writer as those women are. So, I continued to sit back and just follow along on social media. Every so often, I’d have a friend or sometimes even a stranger, comment on my outfits and tell me, “you should write a fashion blog,” and every so often, I’d consider it, but then those nasty thoughts would creep into my head, and I would back down.
In March of 2016, I decided I would play it safe, and started @astylishcloset on Instagram, where I began posting my daily outfits. Instagram is great for just that, posting an outfit of the day picture, but there was not a way I could go into detail about a great sale that was happening, or show different ways to style that great pencil skirt, so a year later, I decided it was time to try a blog.
I know there are thousands of fashion blogs out there, amazing fashion blogs, and so I thank you for taking the time to stop by and read mine. Here are 10 questions/answers to get to know me a little better.
How tall are you?
I am 5’6″.
Where do you live?
I was born and raised in Utah, and still live here today with my husband and three children.
What are your guilty pleasures?
I have a huge Coke Zero addiction and I love mint brownies. I enjoy watching Impractical Jokers, and am a sucker for Musicals. I have a love for traveling, and have to say New York City, Greenwich, Connecticut, and Venice, Italy are my 3 favorite places in the world.
Favorite Places to Shop?
Nordstrom, J. Crew, Anthropologie
What brings you the most happiness?
My family, my faith (LDS), watching my kids participate in sports/dance, and a good sale!
Celebrity Crush?
That is an easy one, Matthew McConaughey.
What are some of your current fashion obsessions?
I’m loving all the different trends right now. Over the knee boots, ruffle hems, skinny jeans, and bomber jackets.
What do you never leave home without?
My iphone, lipstick, and jewelry. I just feel naked without the last two.
What items in your closet do you wear the most?
My BlankNYC skinny jeans, over the knee boots, my Jord Watch, and denim/bomber jackets.
Who is your Style Icon?
I’d have to say Kelly Ripa. She just has such a cute, timeless style that I love.
